Leadership & Vision

Leadership and Vision – SSR Findings

Strength AreasGrowth Areas
Overall, there is a positive climate throughout the school, fed by the leadership establishing a clear understanding of expectations (Social Contracts, Standards Curriculum, Relationship Building). Leadership is visible to all stakeholders and often models their expectations.  Each staff member’s experiences are valued equally, and all are working together as a team to improve instruction. It was apparent that student and staff voices are valued. There appears to be room to strengthen communication between the administration and the community.  Specifically regarding sharing information about initiatives and improvement plans, which may help build understanding, support, and involvement from families.
All stakeholders take pride in their school. The building has an inviting work space as a whole, with evidence of quality student work and creative uses of the limited available space (group activities in the hallway). The leadership plays a modeling role for the stakeholders that promotes the positive pride displayed throughout the district. There appears to be an opportunity to strengthen alignment between the district’s Mission and supporting statements.  A unified Mission and Vision that guide all priorities and values may create clearer, more consistent messaging across the district.
